Fake XBOX 360 Controller

Buyer beware, my girlfriend got this one off eBay, and had I not looked close enough, neither of us would have ever known it was a fake!

My first tip-off was that the edges of the molded pieces were sharp, not rounded like the official controller. I was getting a sore finger pad holding down the right trigger during Forza. Then the battery wouldn't fit in easily, and my second battery wouldn't work with it at all. Take a look at the pics below, first is the real thing, second is the fake. The fonts aren't quite right, the holographic sticker isn't as reflective as the original, and the machining is sloppy.

Damn close though! I've had it a month and I just noticed!

Great find! Make sure you flag the person who sold it to your girlfriend.

WOW!! I have a hard time telling the difference even after you told me which was which.

I know! Damn close! But once you try putting official Microsoft battery packs into it, you can tell. Nothing quite lines up.

On a positive note I just ordered a silver MS controller off Amazon. Includes the play and charge kit, and has the nifty rotate to switch D-pad. Goes from circular to cross-shaped with a twist! Only $43.
